UNMIK administration in northern Mitrovica in line with Security Council Resolution 1244

Belgrade, Kosovska Mitrovica, Nov 25, 2002 - Head of the Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija Nebojsa Covic said the that UNMIK's taking over of the administration in northern Kosovska Mitrovica is in line with UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and an agreement between UNMIK and Belgrade.

Through a statement to RTS state television, Covic said that the citizens of northern Kosovska Mitrovica should remain calm after the UNMIK Administrator for Kosovska Mitrovica, John Rogers, told employees of the municipality building there to move out.

President of the municipality's union of employees Petar Radakovic called on all employees to fill out application forms for posts in the future local government office by Nov 26, agencies reported.
